B Alan Wallace on the implications of considering that the whole Universe is a quantum system Starting with a thought experiment of noted theoretical physicist John Archibald Wheeler (who coined the terms black hole, quantum foam, it from bit), Wallace points out that without the observer-participant, there is no time, and without time there is no evolution. So in effect there can be no Universe without the observer-participant, aka Consciousness.
