When you have identical twins, they are monozygotic, meaning they are formed from one single zygote. Identical twins also share the same DNA and thats why they always look identical to each other. When you have fraternal twins, they are dizygotic, meaning they are formed from 2 individual zygotes. The DNA of dizygotic twins is often unique to each sibling.
