Hello everyone, Whenever I introduce myself as a web developer to someone one of the most frequent questions I face is how does the first website look like. in this video I am going to show you how does the first website look like on those days and how it looks like today.
Before that let's take a look at the history of w w w or world wide web. world wide web was discovered by Tim Berners-Lee, who was a programmer on cern in nineteen ninety's and first web page was made available in nineteen ninety-one, world wide web was never an official project of cern. The original intention of the project was making information easily available to all. Tim Berners-Lee Used the Next computer as a server, and the first browser was nexus which was programmed by Tim Berners-Lee, in this video I am going to show how the first website looks like in line-mode browser which is the second and readily available browser on that time.
This is how the first web page looks like. Every link has a unique number associated with it. In order to visit the link the number should be entered. This web page is dedicated to explaining world wide web, and its terms, usage and available resource. let’s browse through a few more pages and see the contents. Line mode Browser doesn't have the option to view graphical contents, also this website does not contain graphical contents. This website is still live and the link to this website is given in the description.
Let's see how does the website look like in the modern browser, I use Firefox 65. This website looks like a simple HTML page with no graphics contents. In the past thirty years we have build amazing things on the web and all started from this website. Thanks to cern to make this website still available to us. For those who want to know more about the history of the internet there is a link in the description below.
