For the latest news across Belize, visit: Since last week we’ve been reporting on the brutal killing of a young, pregnant mother Joan Gabourel from Valley of Peace, Cayo. She went missing and was found dead several days later on March third. She was stabbed, chopped and bludgeoned to death. As we told you, two persons were detained, including a relative on whose farm Gabourel’s nude, decomposing body was discovered. Now police say that both persons have been released, but one was charged for a separate matter. The other development in the case is that Gabourel’s bicycle and some other personal belongings were found in the area. Today, ACP Joseph Myvett of the National Crimes Investigation Branch told the media that Gabourel’s uncle has not cooperated with police but they are looking for another suspect and hope to close in on the killer or killers soon.
