New TransPennine Express 802201 passes through Hitchin on 5Q95: 18/02/2018

A huge surprise appeared round the corner whilst spending a Monday morning session of trains at Hitchin.

Brand new TransPennine Express Class 802201, in its stunning new TransPennine Express blue livery, runs 5Q95 from Hull to London Kings Cross under electric power!

The 21 Class 802/2s on order for TransPennine Express will run services between Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly to Hull, Scarborough, Middlesbrough and Newcastle.

The units are planned to enter service from July 2019, with full service served by these new trains planned for May 2020.
