Self-worth depends on two parameters: 1. Defensive pessimism: When I have low self-worth, I attempt to convey myself that things which I want may not happen. To avoid disappointments I reduce my expectations
2. Self handicapping: We have a tendency to create obstacles in our path to preserve our self worth. This way we can blame obstacles rather than ourselves. I believe I can do it but I procrastinate it to preserve my self-worth . My approach is chalta..hai.
To improve my self-worth, I need to understand my decision making approach which is based on negative and positive emotions:
1. Wanting to avoid failure (negative emotion).
2. Designing to build success (positive emotion).
Improvement can be of two kinds :
1. One that leads to better efficiency in your core .This is possible with every human and there is no resistance.
2. Another is going into completely different domain and life improves significantly. Here the resistance is high as you are starting from ZERO and not many in the world have the capacity to begin from ZERO.
My self-worthiness comes from what I have overcome in the past and what action i will take in future.
When self worth goes up life will improve significantly.
So, let's improve our and our near one's self worth and make this a better place to live in.
