Portion of Gaisano Mall of Davao on Fire

A portion of the Gaisano Mall of Davao in JP Laurel Avenue, Bajada occupied by an outlet of Shakey's Pizza caught fire on the afternoon of April 10, 2019. Prompt response by mall personnel, pizza employees and firefighters prevented the blaze from growing to disastrous proportion. The blaze, which resulted to P150,000 worth of property lost, was completely put out less than 30 minutes after it was detected around 4:17 p.m. Fire officials said the blaze was caused by excessive heat from the pizza parlor's kitchen exhaust vent. No one was hurt during the incident.
