Frederic Thenault, CEO of Syneidis, presents another brief episode of cybersecurity news.

Last Tuesday WhatsApp detected a big vulnerability: A threat that allows hackers to install spyware on users' devices, simply through a video call! ๐Ÿ•ต️๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

How did the WhatsApp spyware work? Hackers were making a WhatsApp call to the chosen phone, and even if the victim did not answer, the spyware was installed on the device.
The suspicion falls on an Israeli group. One of the reasons that reinforces the hypothesis that NSO Group is behind the incident, is that the victims are from human rights defense associations and in the past, this group has carried out attacks against this type of organizations.
Frederic suggest (as WhatsApp reported) to update the app on all your devices and read our latest post on our Syneidis Blog ( to double-check which is the latest Whatsapp version for all operating systems.
Remember to be safe online and offline, and see you soon.
