If there is one thing I know for sure, it is that supplementation can help speed up the process towards getting to your fitness goals. Not all supplements are the same though, so which ones do you need? And why?
The first supplement mentioned was creatine. Creatine is great because of its ability to regenerate ATP more quickly hence allowing for more output in the gym. One may say that creatine is given in foods such as beef, chicken, etc., and that is very much true; however, the amount of meat needed to get the optimal amount of creatine is beyond the healthy limit. Supplementation fills in to give the best results possible.
As far as the multivitamin, you should take this supplement to ensure you are bridging any gaps within your nutrition as far as your micronutrients and vitamins.
Whey Protein or Protein in supplement form is a great way to help meet your protein requirements for the day. Whey Protein is also the most quality of protein that there is. It is also the best as a pro-workout shake because of its ability to be more easily and readily absorbed after consumption, rather than having a full course meal which would be much slower to absorb after consumption.
Supplements "supplement" nutrition, and should not be viewed as the solution, but rather, a part of the solution. Nutrition is primary, whereas supplementation is secondary and is necessary to optimize muscle growth.
