My kid doesn’t want to sleep and sometimes sees monsters in the closet...what do I do?

Here’s my thoughts on a recent question from a dad. His child doesn’t stay in bed well and sometimes gets scared. They do a really great job of how they handle this, but wanted some help with it all.
