Career Colleges Ontario is proud to announce the recipients of its annual CCO Awards recognizing excellence among the province's career colleges, their instructors and graduates. The awards recipients were first honoured during an awards ceremony in Toronto on May 30, which saw the gathering of colleges across the province to celebrate the stories all-too-often confined to the halls of Ontario’s career college campuses. Career Colleges Ontario presents the awards to graduates who have made exceptional strides in their lives and careers in the face of adversity. The awards provide a platform and recognition for the outstanding achievements of graduates and the hurdles they have overcome. The awards also recognize the hard-working instructors who helped these students on their journey to achieve their education and career goals.
CCO is also pleased to announce the recipient of the 2019 Paul Kitchin Award for Outstanding Community Involvement. Each year, the award is presented to an Ontario career college that has exhibited, through community involvement, exceptional service in the enhancement of the prosperity of Ontarians. For a campus to receive the Paul Kitchin Award, a partnering charity or non-profit must nominate the campus, and a panel of judges assess the overall impact the campus' contributions have on its community.
Ontario’s career colleges play an essential role in post-secondary education and career training for over 145 years. They produce approximately 30,000 graduates each year who go on to accomplish great things in their careers and their communities. The CCO Awards is a celebration of career college institutions, graduates and instructors who have exhibited outstanding community engagement and career success.
