UK weather WARNING: UK could see ONE MONTH'S rain in ONE DAY - latest Met Office warnings The Met Office has issued four yellow warnings for severe weather, warning of heavy, prolonged rain which could lead to flooding and disrupt transport. Some parts could even see a month’s worth of rainfall in a single day, forecasters have warned. Temperatures are expected to remain well below the average for this time of year as the week goes on. The warnings span Monday to Thursday and cover southeastern parts of the UK. According to the Met Office forecast, many places will see about an inch of rainfall, while isolated spots could see up to three inches. The average monthly rainfall for the southeast in June is about two inches. Met Office forecaster Simon Partridge said: “A number of spots around could see, within a few days really, a month's worth of rain, so a wet, windy, fairly cool week for most.” READ MORE: Europe BATTERED by thunderstorms as UK warned of flooding TOMORROW Here are the Met Office warnings for the week:MONDAY Time warning in place: Monday 4am to midnight Regions affected: East Midlands, East of England, London & South East England, West Midlands, Yorkshire & Humber Details: Areas of heavy rain will push north and then westwards across much of south and east England on Monday. Whilst some places will miss the worst of the rain, up to an inch may occur quite widely, with some areas potentially seeing up to two inches and much of this falling in less than six hours.  There is also a chance thunder may develop later in the day over parts of East Anglia and the far southeast of England.TUESDAY Time warning in place: All day Regions affected: East Midlands, East of England, North East England, West Midlands, Yorkshire & Humber Details: Further spells of rain, heavy at times, will continue to affect parts of eastern England during Tuesday. Some areas are again expected to see up to two inches of rain in six to 12 hours.WEDNESDAY Time warning in place: Expires at 12pm Regions affected: East Midlands, East of England, North East England, West Midlands, Yorkshire & Humber Details: There is a chance that continued periods of heavy rain may lead to localised flooding. Some areas might see up to three inches of heavy rain. READ MORE: Flights delayed due to bad weather in London - is your route affected?
