The dog days of summer are here so it's time for hot dogs. As if we need an excuse for hot dogs. It's easy to just throw the hot dogs into the pan, and there's nothing really wrong with that, but they do taste better when we take a couple of small and easy steps in preparation, such as cutting slits in the hot dogs and cooking them in butter. And when you cook them in cast iron, you don't just have hot dogs -- you have incredible hot dogs.
