Take it from travel site Kayak.

I’m talking saving up to 50% on a trip to Lisbon, Portugal.

Or if you’ve got other ideas for a Euro trip, you’ll save from 20% to 40% on flights to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin and London to name a few.

Long story short, booking in the summer months can save you a ton of money, according to a head honcho from Kayak that CNBC spoke with.

You can save up to 40% on flights to Paris and Rome if you book in early September.

Don’t worry if time passes and you haven’t booked anything.

Just book on the right day.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are best, according to a travel expert at flight and hotel website Hopper.com.

A travel blogger Self magazine spoke with says another tip is to fly out of an airport that’s a bit farther away from home.

You could end up saving money.
