يعاني أهالي مدينة الموصل بشكل خاص والعراق بشكل عام من التدخلات الخارجية في شؤون البلاد وبالأخص من قبل إيران التي فرضت ميليشياتها (الحشد الشعبي) سيطرتها على الموصل بعد أن تحررت من قبضة داعش، وبدأت بتدمير ممنهج بحجة رفع الأنقاض وتطهير المباني والأحياء من المتفجرات.
