The ongoing expansion of the Kalka-Shimla highway is posing great danger to the houses and other buildings along the hillsides. Sliding mountains resulting in frequent landslides is a geological catastrophe of massive proportions. Use of heavy machinery in the construction work is causing even more damage to the hillsides causing frequent landslides over this route.
