Founded in 2011, The Honest Company sells a wide array of baby and cleaning products. More recently, Jessica launched Honest Beauty, which sells cosmetics made of 'clean ingredients.' The idea for The Honest Company came to Jessica when she was pregnant with her first child, daughter Honor. In a 2015 interview with Vanity Fair, the actress recalled breaking out in hives after washing a onesie with a detergent her mother had recommended. 'I was thinking, what if my baby has a reaction and I don’t know? What if her throat is closing? I had all this fear and anxiety because I was always so sick as a child.'She added, 'I wanted safe and effective consumer products that were beautifully designed, accessibly priced, and easy to get.'
