Role of parents in child-rearing:

Child rearing is a serious business. Children need constant attention
and guidance not only in early years of life but also all through
adolescence. Constant support and supervision provides them a sense of
security both mental and physical and that is important for emotional and
behavioral development.

How to Be a Good Parent:

Parenting can be one of life's most rewarding pursuits. It can bring great joy into life, but it can also be challenging and overwhelming. Because every child and family situation is unique, it can be hard to know the best thing to do in every parenting situation. While there is no magic formula for perfect parenting, there are certain traits and behaviors that successful parents share. Whether your children are toddlers or teens, implementing these principles will create a strong foundation for achieving your goal of being a good parent.

সন্তান লালন পালনে মা বাবার করণীয় :

পিতা-মাতার প্রতি সন্তানের যেমন কর্তব্য আছে; তেমনি সন্তানের প্রতিও পিতা-মাতার কর্তব্য রয়েছে।

মানুষ স্বাভাবিক অভ্যাস হিসেবে সন্তানের আনুগত্য কামনা করেন। তারা চান, সন্তান যেন তাদেরকে সম্মান করে, সুন্দর আচরণ করে। এই চাওয়াটা খুবই স্বাভাবিক। তবে সন্তান প্রতিপালনের ক্ষেত্রে পিতা-মাতার ভাবা উচিত, তারা সন্তানের অধিকার কতটুকু আদায় করেছেন। সন্তানের যাবতীয় অধিকার যথাযথভাবে আদায় না করে সন্তানের কাছ থেকে ভালো কিছু চাওয়া বোকামি।

সন্তান প্রতিপালনে বর্তমানে অধিকাংশ বাবা-মায়ের ক্ষেত্রে চরম উদাসীনতা লক্ষ্য করা যায়- যা কোনোভাবেই কাম্য নয়। পিতা-মাতা যদি সন্তানকে ভদ্রতা দেখান, তার সঙ্গে সুন্দর আচরণ করেন, তাদের যথাযথ দেখাশোনা করেন, তবে সন্তানের কাছ থেকে পরবর্তীতে এসব আশা করতে পারেন; অন্যথায় নয়।
