The Sticking Point & Velocity

The Sticking Point & Velocity We've all experienced the sticking point in a lift during the concentric (up) phase where we slow down and the weight feels heavier. In submaximal loads, we then have to exert maximum effort to push past that point. In maximal lifts, our strength fails and we miss the lift. This occurs due to many factors: muscle weakness, technique, weak biomechanics, fatigue, mental effort, and strength and velocity.

Let's talk about that last one, Velocity, and how we can improve velocity in a lift to get past the sticking point.
