The video then moves along into the latest stipulations and rumors about what we can expect to possibly see in the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and even 2024 line ups of the Ford Bronco. So far, we are expecting to see 2-door and 4-door options, v6 engines, possibly v8 engines, and even an electric engine component. It would be hard to belive that a Ford Bronco Pickup Truck wouldn't be in the plans for Ford, considering the success of their primary market competitor in Jeep. the 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Wrangler models are both doing quite well in terms of sales and brand recognition, and we are hoping that the Ford Bronco will bring on the heat in the market. Jeep and their Mopar counterparts allow consumers to accessorize their vehicles with thousands of dollars of accessories and add-ons, one of our primary recommendations in this regard would be options to customize and purchase add-ons to the Ford Broncos.
Ford is planning to launch a pickup truck based on the 2021 Bronco SUV to compete with the just-minted Jeep Gladiator. The Ford Bronco pickup truck is scheduled for production in July 2024, according to AutoForecast Solutions, which indicates design and engineering began no more than a few months before the Jeep pickup launched. That launch date would be well within the lifecycle of the upcoming 2021 Bronco, a Ranger-based Jeep Wrangler competitor. Another source notes that with both a Ranger Raptor (based on the next-generation of that midsize pickup) and the Focus-based unibody 2021 Ford Courier on the way, he doesn’t expect the Bronco pickup earlier than calendar 2022.
A report by (Chris Bruce, 2019) discusses the notion that the upcoming compact Ford pickup could fall under the Bronco branding in the United States. The move is part of the Blue Oval's future product plan that involves creating sub-brands of models wearing the Mustang and Bronco monikers, according to Motor Trend.
The little pickup would slot below the Ranger in Ford's lineup and would reportedly ride on a long-wheelbase version of the new Focus' platform. Power reportedly comes from EcoBoost 1.5- and 2.0-liter engines, but Motor Trend also offers the possibility of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder. Front-wheel drive allegedly comes standard but with all-wheel drive as an option
Spy shots (above) don't yet provide a very good look at the truck's styling because Ford keeps it under heavy camouflage. If this is report is accurate about the tiny pickup being in the Bronco family, then it could have a very boxy, rugged appearance to match the moniker's legacy.
Ford will reportedly build the small pickup in Mexico and then export them to the United States and South America. The truck allegedly launches in Brazil in 2021 and comes to North America a year later. The name for the model remains a mystery, but the two leading rumors hint at the company using either Courier or Ranchero on it.
In addition to the full-on Bronco and this tiny pickup, the sub-brand would also consist of a compact crossover. This model would share its platform and possibly some mechanical aspects with the new Escape. However, spy shots show that the little vehicle wears a very boxy body that would create a visual similarity with the new Bronco. (Motor Trend, 2019)
Naturally, Ford will base the pickup truck on the upcoming body-on-frame ’21 Bronco expected after mid-2020, not the Escape-based unibody “baby Bronco” (possibly called Bronco Scout) scheduled to make its premiere a bit earlier. The ’21 Ford Bronco likely will be built on some version of the next-generation Ranger’s bones, one source says, and will join that pickup in Michigan’s Wayne Assembly Plant. The new-for-2019 North American Ford Ranger was adapted from a global version of the midsize pickup after a seven-model-year hiatus, although it was heavily reworked to meet our market’s demanding truck standards. Ford has been adamant that it will not design a Raptor version of the current North American Ranger (there is a current Ranger Raptor in other markets), though Raptor versions of the new Bronco and its pickup derivative are highly likely, probably within a year after each standard model’s launch.
