Indelible Bhaktapur:

Bhaktapur, an ancient city stuck in time. Surrounded by magnificent yet imposing peaks of the
Himalayan mountain range. A glimpse of Newari life as it was a thousand years ago. The
echoing sounds of temple bells, the smell of burning incense lingering in the air. The chatter
of the friendly locals with their beaming smiles as they sip their teas. Exploring hidden alleys
whose walls hold stories of days long gone. I watch as a towering chariot is being pulled along
the durbar square where thousands of people gather to witness the processions that keeps
alive their culture for future generations. The comforts of modern life exist in perfectly
balanced harmony with the traditional. This is evident in the countless restaurants that cater to
any palate, from delicious local Newari cuisine to a variety of international options. After
exhausting myself from exploring this fascinating place all day, I retire to an immaculately kept
guest house where the hospitable staff pamper you and go out their way to make your stay is
as comfortable as feasibly possible. Feeling rejuvenated after a good night’s sleeps it’s time to
do it all over again.


This city has left an indelible mark on my soul. I can’t wait to come back.
