Broke My Toe Making a Flaming Moe | How to Drink

Broke My Toe Making a Flaming Moe | How to Drink I'm making the legendary Flaming Moe, and also I broke my toe, it's in the video, I'm not joking.

**********************************

Today on How to Drink I'm tackling the legendary Flaming Moe, or Flaming Homer, depending on who's story you think is the true one. Honestly, I would have called this a Flaming Homer, but research (asking my friends) suggests the Flaming Moe might have better name recognition.

In the episode this drink is from Homer is stuck watching slides from Patty and Selma's latest vacation to the Dead Sea when he wanders into the kitchen in search of a beer, but Patty has drank the last one. Instead he whips up a cocktail comprised on the little bits left at the end of every bottle in his kitchen, including some Krusty's Non-Narkotik Kough Syrup. The drink is merely acceptable at first, successfully passing the "Blindness" test, but the addition of fire transforms it into something truly incredible. To quote Homer: "I don't know the scientific explanation, but fire made it good".

Moe of course then steals Homer's creation and becomes wildly famous and successful in the process. So, my recipe doesn't involve cough syrup, because that would be dangerous and ridiculous, and it's a bit more intentional that simply combining everything in the liquor cabinet (my liquor cabinet is pretty gigantic these days) but it definitely stays true to the spirit and I think flavor profile of the drink, and yes, it is improved dramatically by fire.

It also broke my toe- so I hope you'll enjoy witnessing my severe pain in this episode.
