Death Stranding Marketing: What Are They Thinking?!?

Playstation marketing/PR never does anything by the seat of their pants. Reveals and hints and teases are mapped out sometimes a year in advance.

This leads me to question: what the hell is happening with Death Standing's marketing?!? It's either insanely, cryptically brilliant or someone a ball is being dropped BIG TIME over at Sony PR.
