Hurricane Dorian to strengthen further - 9am August 29, 2019

Hurricane Dorian has held its intensity overnight, and could be at the beginning of a new intensification phase this morning which could bring it up towards major hurricane status. The storm is well clear of Puerto Rico, and is now moving over open waters until it reaches the northern Bahamas by the weekend.
The storm is still poised to strike the coast of Florida late this weekend, but its exact location will not be determinable for some time. All those in the path of the storm should ensure that their plans and preparations are complete within the next 48 hours.
