The spokesperson for Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation, Behrouz Kamalvandi, told journalists in Tehran on Saturday, that his country started feeding gas into IR-6 centrifuge machines as part of Iran's measures to reduce its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Kamalvandi stated that Iran's measures have come as a response to Iran's treatment by the other signatories of the nuclear deal. "It is not a violation, as we have said, it is a rectification of a wrongdoing and imbalance of rights and commitments," he said.

"Approximately 60 IR-6 machines in around two months, will continuously be working both in research and development and increasing the country's uranium reserves," the spokesperson said.

Kamalvandi also added that Iran would be returning to its commitment as soon as the other signatories return to them.

"But the more we go ahead, this situation is getting tougher and they [the Europeans] should know that there is no more time left and if they want to take any action, it should be done quickly," he said.

Earlier in the day, a spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry condemned the announcement by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani that Iran would be further reducing its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), at a regular government press conference in Berlin.
