Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the cover for Vision X Optimus Round Prime Pod Lights. This is going to be a clear lens that can pop over the top of your light and then convert it into a flood beam style. This is going to make it really easy to have multiple options for your lights without having to actually switch out the lights themselves, you can just replace these covers and then get a lot of options out of it.So this is going to work for both forward driving and then also our peripheral vision. So it's going to widen that beam out and make it a little bit more flooded so that we can get a wider field of view. It's not going to alter the color at all. It's going to keep it nice and bright white. It is a shatterproof polycarbonate, so it's going to protect it from any kind of shocks and any kind of rocks or road debris coming up and hitting that light. So let's pop it on our Vision X light here. There are two tabs on either side that are going to grab around the ring of our Vision X light to hold it firmly in place and there is a little embossed logo up at the top to indicate which end goes up, just to make it a little easier to see where that logo should go.It doesn't really affect the, the operation of the light lens too much, just helps it to stay nice and straight. So just snap this on here, and it really does grip around there very nicely.
Looks like it's meant to be there. And this logo actually lights up, and it's a glow in the dark ink so it looks pretty cool at night, especially once you've used that light. It makes it look pretty nice.So it's just an easy install, there's also a little gasket on the inside to help keep out any water or debris from fogging up in the middle of that light so you won't have to worry about any dust getting in there and causing issues and then rattling around scratching up the lens of your lights. This is going to not only help to widen out that field of view by spreading out the beam into a flood style, but it also helps to just be an extra protector for your light lens itself. Now I'm going to go ahead and connect my light up just so you can see the difference. Doesn't come with the light, they are sold separately. You can find those here at etrailer.com, if you want to pick up the lights to go with your preppers, which you probably do.So I'm going to pop my wiring in here, comes with my actual lights, and then I'm going to connect that to power and ground. Just so you can see the difference. It's not a huge difference.
It actually makes a bigger change if you see it at a distance. When it's pretty close up, it's a little harder to tell what it's actually done for you.Going to turn this light on, so it's going to get real bright, and it's pretty bright in the room here, but it makes that beam go a lot further out.Turn the light out in the studio and you have a better idea of what that's done.So if I pull my light away from the table, it's just going to widen out that field of view, because before this light was a spot style, so that circle of light really only wanted to be here and then there was just a little bit that trailed off side to side. With this one it makes that bright spot much wider. So just gives us a different option. We also have covers available that are in different colors. So, if you're going through a foggy area for instance, amber can actually help to illuminate better than just plain white.
Same thing with a red lens can help and kind of dusty situation. So we have other options available if you need a different color and that really helps you get the most out of your Vision X light. To remove it, turn that off, unplug it.These really do hold on pretty well. So I've found just taking my thumb underneath that tab and really prying out to be the best way, but I don't have the best hand strength, so this might not be as difficult for you, but there we go. Got that started on the one side, and we can just pop it off.Get a little bit better at that grommet on the inside is just a little silicon grommet going around that to help protect it.This has a three and three quarter inch inner diameter, so it'll work with three and three quarter inch lights from Vision X.And that's going to do it for our look at the cover for Vision X Optimus Round Prime Pod Lights.
