What’s up guys? It’s Drew Dorsey here with Clevver News and the highly-anticipated VMA’s are tonight and we literally can’t wait.
Like how many more hours, for real?
The VMA’s will feature performances by Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Camila Cabello, J Balvin, Lil Nas X, and Shawn Mendes.
And Taylor tied with Ariana Grande for the most nominations of the night with ten, followed by Billie Eilish with nine, and Lil Nas X with eight.
Seriously, how does one room hold all this star power? It’s almost too much excitement for me to handle.
While the awards are great and all, I’m honestly just ready for these performances.
Specifically, Taylor Swift’s performance as it’s her first time taking the VMA’s stage since her epic performance of "Bad Blood" with Nicki Minaj in 2015.
She just released ‘Lover’ and there are so many amazing songs, 18 to be exact, and I’m beyond excited to see which ones she will be performing.
I’m just hoping she sings ‘You Need to Calm Down’ because that’s still my favorite, althought ‘Lover’ is also very beautiful! .
We’re also excited for Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s performances.
I’m sure they will perform ‘Senorita’ together, which is going to be amazing and steamy and ugh I just love these two so much.
I wonder if we’ll get a smooch at the end?!
These two certainly haven’t been shying away from PDA, so I feel like that’s totally gonna happen. You heard it here first.
We obviously also can’t wait to see what Lizzo does on the VMA stage because each time she performs at an award show, it just keeps getting better and better.
We all remember that epic performance of ‘Truth Hurts’ at the BET Awards.
And Lil Nas X already teased that he is going to be performing his hit ‘Panini’ at the VMA’s and if it’s gonna be anything like his tweet, we know it’s going to be epic.
But I think the moment 10-year-old-me is most excited for is Missy Elliot finally receiving the Video Vanguard Award.
It’s the biggest award of the night and other celebs who have received this honor include Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears.
Missy will be the first female rapper ever to win this award.
Missy wrote on Twitter quote, “I am Humbly Grateful to be receiving the MichaelJacksonVideoVanguard Award😭🙏🏾❤️ I Thank my FANS “Supafriends” who fought diligently to see this day come🙏🏾@KidFury @crissles who rooted for years 4 me🙏🏾 I am crying happy tears😭Thank you God @MTV @vmas am SO HUMBLED🙏🏾”
And even fellow performer Lizzo has been waiting for this moment for Missy.
Lizzo replied to Missy’s tweet saying quote, “I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY FOR SOOOOO LONG 😭 CONGRATS QUEEN”
And it’s finally almost here!
