I am Traei from Vancouver. I am an actress, model, writer, and also the vice-president of BC Minorities for Film & Television Society (NPO). I am excited to share this awesome and hilarious comedy project combining the recent Vancouver housing crisis, namely the Empty Home Tax with the dating scene in Vancity. With a diverse and inclusive crew team (in front and behind the camera), we are bringing you laughter right here in the city of Vancouver!
Synopsis: When a foreigner buyer is forced to pay taxes for his empty mansion; he desperately ask his mistreated Vancouverite Exes to move in while he is away! He needs his Ex Partners to avoid paying taxes and they need him to avoid paying rent...
In the "Empty Home X", a comedy portrayal of this situation based on true stories. Many foreign investors are buying up properties in Vancouver, BC, a known reality. They often leave it vacant and have no idea how this is affecting the locals, where housing continues to be an issue with afford-ability. The comedy comes in exploring the multiple dimensions of the lead foreign investor and his multiple relationships in Vancouver BC. Despite his wealth, he uses his exes to his advantage to 'house sit' his empty properties to avoid paying taxes. He just hates paying taxes. As the story transpires...all the exes have a run in at the same house! The comical drama begins as they each begin meeting each other by accident at the same house, arriving one by one. The two things they have in common is that they all dated the lead foreign investor and is facing some form of housing crisis in Vancouver (e.g. renting, living at home, unable to afford housing).
