Agencies vs Individual Providers in the Home Help Program

Agencies vs Individual Providers in the Home Help Program Are you caring for an elderly or disabled loved one? You can get paid for doing this!

In this video I talk about three main advantages to going through an agency vs having an individual provider for Home Help Program services.

The Home Help Program through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services works to prevent individuals from going to nursing homes, and to keep them in the community.

The program is funded by Medicaid. An individual that can no longer live independently can hire a caregiver or family member at no cost to help them with daily living activities. Medicaid pays for these caregiver services.

Here are some more useful links that go more in depth about the Home Help Program, and alternatives to this program such as the MI Choice Waiver Program.
