A demonstration of students turned violent in Colombia's capital Bogota on Thursday with police using tear gas and water cannon to disperse protesters. Footage shows the intially peaceful rally evolving into a violent stand-off.
Around 2,000 students joined the rally to express a number of grievances, including a new article in the so-called Financing Law which allegedly jeopardises funding for education. Protesters also demanded an investigation into alleged corruption practices within universitites.
