This video is a little long, but I wanted to share my thought on this topic. Last week I reviewed a track from an artist called Afro Sensei. His style is not the most conventional dance music, but it was a great example of a point that I make a lot. You need to be confident in your music. All too often I meet artists that are making music but are too shy to release it for fear that they might be criticized. That is the easiest way to kill your career before it's even started.
I love the saying 'Noting great came from being comfortable' and it applies here. Nobody has built a solid following by releasing a single track every 3 years.
Afro Sensei is a great example of someone who is putting their music out there, for people to judge but also putting him in a position to be heard and build a following.
