Hospitals closing abruptly, layoffs with out notice, and no running water.

Hospitals closing abruptly, layoffs with out notice, and no running water. Hospitals are continuing to close and close abruptly. Leaving many of our fellow healthcare workers without jobs and without notice. Nurses and other healthcare workers including nurses are finding themselves unemployed instantly and abruptly. Many hospitals throughout the US are having financial issues so much so that the doors are shutting as some institutions. Can you imagine leaving work one day and a few days later the doors are shut?! Well this is just what is happening today. Layoffs, aka downsizing, restructuring whatever fancy word that they want to give to this phenomenon. While in other hospitals there is no running water going on 4 weeks but yet they are still admitting patients while expecting nurses to work under these conditions. Seriously, this is distressing just to report. I will continue to report, and then encourage my fellow nurses to make a Plan B and enact the plan for sustainability. I will continue to encourage entrepreneurship and starting businesses. Having a plan and being prepared if at all possible is so much better than being caught off guard these days.
