Playstation 5 - GPU Ray Tracing & More | Intel Xe Is Monstrous - Ray Tracing & Huge Performance Sony has confirmed that the Playstation 5 will launch in Holiday 2020, the same time frame as Sony's rival, Microsofts, Xbox Scarlett. Sony also confirmed that the PS5 will... be called the Playstation 5. Mark Cerny also told wired that the system does feature hardware ray tracing on the GPU, but didn't give details to the PS5's implementation of it.

They also stated that the ps5 will have a way faster ssd, capable of fine grained game installs and data retrieval.

Intel's Gen 12 Graphics, also known as Intel XE will also sport ray tracing too. While Nvidia were first with hardware ray tracing, Intel and AMD will both be bringing ray tracing technology home in 2020 too. Intel also confirmed they wish to double performance of their gen 12 mobility graphics too compared to the current Intel Gen 11 graphics.

TSMC has also said that their 7nm+ manufacturing process will be hitting mass production, in perfect time for next generation hardware from AMD (Zen 3 and rdna second gen), apple and potentially even Nvidia.
