In today's video, I show the true cost of YouTube and what I paid to start my channel in 2019. I knew YouTube was hard, but I had no idea how much it would cost. It seems easy to make money online with YouTube, the truth is far from it.

I started my YouTube channel 2 years after I quit my job. While keeping my expenses extremely low, I was able to save enough money to quit and try something else.

After 8 years of working, I built up a stock portfolio of bluechip dividend paying stocks with Robinhood that allowed me to take a risk. However, this was my retirement money and the goal was to not touch a single dollar of that taxable investment account. I only had $14,000 left in my bank account with no additional income.

With that money, the goal was to grow a youtube channel in 2019 and invest my time to create a better form of passive income - one that I actually enjoyed doing. Here is my journey and what I purchased with the remainder of my money after I quit my job.
