The Mission Of The Seventy-Two (1) The Mission Of The Seventy-Two (1)
Jesus had little time to accomplish his work. So, as well as appointing twelve Apostles, on one occasion, he chose seventy-two disciples and sent them in pairs to villages and towns ahead of him, to preach his Good News.
He said to them, “Whenever you enter a house first say, May peace be on this house”. (Luke 10:5)
Thought
It was a beautiful introduction, extending the peace of Christ to all within the home, the family.
The same greeting would still bring a warm smile and the grace of God to friends and strangers that I may meet today!
St. Therese, guide me in your “Little Way”,so that I may ascend to the heightsand happiness of Heaven.
St. Therese, help me to always believe as you did,in God’s great love for me,so that I may imitate your “Little Way” for the remaining days of my life. Amen.
O my Divine Saviour, transform me into yourself.May my hands be the hands of Jesus.May my tongue be the tongue of Jesus,Grant that every faculty of my body may serve only to glorify you.Above all, transform my soul and all its powers,so that my memory, my will and my affectionsmay be the memory, the will and the affections of Jesus.I pray you to destroy in me all that is not you.Grant that I may live but in you and for you,and that I may truly say with St. Paul:“I live, now not I, but Christ lives in me”. (Gal 2:20)
