WATCH: Amb. Yovanovitch testifies she was not given a reason for her firing Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, testified before House lawmakers that she was not told why she was ousted from her position earlier this year. “No real reason was offered as to why I had to leave and why it was being done in such a manner,” Yovanovitch said in response to questions from Democratic counsel Daniel Goldman. The House Intelligence Committee heard testimony on Nov. 15 from Yovanovitch, who was forced out of her position after a smear campaign led by Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
