Artificial Intelligence Colloquium: Lifelong and Robust Machine Learning

Current AI systems are limited to performing only those tasks for which they have been specifically programmed and trained. DARPA is creating AI architectures and machine learning techniques that can learn continuously during execution and become increasingly expert without forgetting previous learning. This talk will discuss approaches to address the barriers to continuous learning, which couple the development of complete systems with the exploration of biological mechanisms that underlie learning.
