In the latest Trump news and world news, a big President Donald Trump lie is once again being exposed by a Trump fact check. Before even getting into the White House, President Trump bragged about being able to fix the United States trade deficit and how Trump trade deals would make America great again. 4 years into the Trump lies about trade, a trade war with China, trade deficits are only going up and reaching new record highs. The Trump administration would like you to believe the president has a handle on trade, but the facts don't lie. Thanks to Trump's tariffs and the Trump tax cut for wealthy Americans the trade deficit has risen to $891 billion for 2018. The tariffs on Chinese goods slowed China’s economy leading them to buy fewer American products. Whereas Americans with tax cuts spent more on imported goods increasing the deficit with China from $375 billion to $419 billion in 2018.
The goods trade deficit with Mexico has gotten larger too.
