A child's shoe; a hair comb made from scrap metal. There are remnants from Auschwitz, not long ago, not far away. Some of the most striking artifacts from the Nazi camp are in the US for the first time at the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. We commemorate the 74th anniversary of the liberation of the camps, yet surveys show that sizable proportions of the population in many countries lack basic knowledge about the Holocaust.
