Elton Refused To 'Tone Down The Sex And Drugs' In Biopic

Elton Refused To 'Tone Down The Sex And Drugs' In Biopic "Rocketman" is the newly released biopic on the life of legendary musician Elton John. According to HuffPost, John revealed to fans why the making of the film was held up, saying that “some studios wanted to tone down the sex and drugs so the film would get a PG-13 rating.” In an op-ed published for The Guardian, John went on to say, “I just haven’t led a PG-13 rated life." In his 2012 memoir, "Love Is the Cure," John wrote about his addiction to cocaine and seeking treatment. In 2015, he celebrated 25 years of sobriety with an Instagram post, adding the caption, “One day at a time.”
