The body of renowned fashion designer Robert Naorem's mother late Thokchom Rekha Devi who was found murdered on May 29 at her own residence at Singjamei Thokchom Leikei in Imphal West was cremated today after the body was claimed by Robert’s family and by the Joint Action Committee. Robert’s father Naorem Dijamani who is in police custody in suspect of being the prime suspect in the murder was kept out of the last rites.
Meanwhile, Manipur State Commission for Women had met the state DGP and Chief Minister on July 1 to pressurize for the speedy investigation into the case and justice for the bereaved family.
