Why we go to the Bible influences what we find when we get there. If we truly love God we will want to hear a word from him. We can go to the Bible and get that word. This is fundamentally different than going to the Bible to get a word from the Lord to use as authorize to leverage your position against someone else in judgment. The Bible can certainly help us make sound judgments but first and foremost the Bible is something we need to be reading to connect with God on a personal level.
