Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi today. Yediyurappa to discuss disqualified MLAs' issue with Amit Shah. Deputy Chief Ministers Dr Ashwath Narayan, Laxman Savadi and Minister Basavaraj Bommai to accompany BS Yediyurappa. The Chief Minister had held a meeting with disqualified MLAs in Bengaluru on Saturday following the announcement of assembly by-polls to 15 constituencies. Disqualified MLAs are worried over their political future and are desperately waiting for relief from the Supreme Court. They expressed their apprehensions during their meeting with the CM.
The 17 disqualified MLAs are barred from contesting elections till the end of the present assembly's term by the then speaker Ramesh Kumar. The expelled Congress and JD(S) leaders are planning to approach Supreme Court seeking stay on by-election process in Karnataka till the apex court decides on their plea.
