First impressions: it looks EXACTLY like a Twin (I mistook it for one at GC and assumed I'd have to special order) and is lighter than I expected. I think it's the lightest combo amp I've owned, it weighs about the same as my 2x10 cabinet with neodymium speakers.
I think if I'd plugged into it first, I would think it sounds EXACTLY like a Twin. As it stands, I sat it next to my Twin, set my Twin to it's sweet spot, and set the Tonemaster to the same settings. It did NOT sound the same. With a little tweaking, I was able to get it VERY VERY close. Biggest difference, I never use the bright switch on my Twin, but I needed on on the Tonemaster to get the "sparkle" and frankly I could have used some more. It needs an "extra bright" switch. That said, my Twin has many hours of playing on it and the Tonemaster is brand new, so maybe the speakers need to break in. If not, I'd still say it's probably a difference in the speakers.
It *is* as loud as a tube Twin, and the reverb and tremolo are SPOT ON.
