What are my options if I feel the court has ruled incorrectly? | Holstrom, Block & Parke, APLC If you feel a court order or judgment is incorrect—if the judge either made a legal error or abused his or her discretion—you have several options. Under certain circumstances, you can file a motion to set aside the order or the judgment. You can file a motion for reconsideration, which is a very short period of time, 10 days. You can also appeal certain judgments and orders to the appellate court, which is a panel of judges that sits specifically for the purpose of reviewing trial judge rulings.

There are some orders and judgments that may not be directly appealable, but you can still go to the appellate court with what's called an emergency writ. If you have an order or judgment that you're not happy with and you think the judge made an error, you can contact us, we can review it for you, we can tell you if you have a valid appeal or other remedy. We can help you preserve your rights and seek the relief that you're entitled to within the appropriate time frame.
